Background: The United Nations Security Council once again took up the status of Southwest Africa (known as Namibia at the U.N.), in the continuing dispute with South Africa on the civilian and military administration of the territory. At yesterday's (Monday 31 July) session, the Security Council named Nigerian delegate O. ADenji to represent Namibia in the debates.
Following a report on the situation by Secretary General Waldhism, several countries gave their support to the Namibian claims, among them, Yugoslavia, Somalia, Sudan and the People's Republic of China.
