Background: Three Istanbul University students in Turkey were injured on Monday (6 January), during clashes between Right and Left-wing factions. One of the students was knifed ... another was shot in the latest of a series of demonstrations at Turkish universities.
The university was sealed off by police after the clash ... and will be closed for three days.
The last disturbance at Istanbul University occurred on 20 December, when students organised a protest meeting against the death of one of their colleagues the night before. The dead man ... an architecture student...died from knife wounds received in a clash between a dozen students. Four people were taken into custody after the knifing.
