SYNOPSIS: Harumi Hall in Tokyo was the scene, Monday, of the 1972 Miss Young International beauty contest. Forty-seven girls entered the contest...An early favourite was Miss Voronique Mercier, aged 16, from France. She finished in third place.
The Miss Young International contest is now in its third year, and is for girls between fifteen and twenty years-old. It's open to competitors from all countries.
After the judging in swimsuit, the girls turned out in their national costumes -- the most prominent being that of Miss Bolivia....But even this creation failed to gain her a place.
The Mexican contestant also caught the eye in her sequin design....But it was Miss Yugoslavia, Miss Anaelka Bozio, who won the honours of the day. She was crowned Miss Young International of 1972.
In addition to her crown, Miss Bozic won a trip to Guam and a prize of one million yen.
