Background: A Russian MIG jet fighter, attached to the Polish Air Force, made a crash landing in Sweden when the pilot 'chose freedom'. 'Escaping' Polish airmen usually try to set down on the Danish island of Bornholm, but on this occasion the fleeing 'plane was chased and fired upon by five other MIGs.

The Mig eventually set down near Guthenburg, completely out of fuel. The Pilot sought politivalasylum.

The 'plane, which is of the mark which the United States sought to buy-over, in the Korean war, will be returned to Poland. But it is understood that the Swedish authorities will make representations about the 'dog-fight' which took place within their territorial area.
