    Background: Over six hundred people were arrested in Delhi yesterday (August 2) as the twelve-day demonstration to demand Government recognition of Bangla Desh entered its second day. The previous day, over 500 people were arrested. In yesterday's protest the demonstrators, members of the opposition Jana Sangh Party, who came from several Indian states to take part, rushed a police cordon. Scuffling between them and the police took place but after the arrests, they boarded police buses quietly.
