Background: Signor France Maria Malfatti, President of the Executive Commission of the European Economic Community, arrived in Nairobi on Wednesday (24 November) for two days of talks with Kenya Ministers.
Signor Malfatti flow to Kenya after a three-day visit to Madagascar. In Tananarive he said the object of his travels was to study important problems concerning the Community's relations with its Associated African states and Madagascar.
On Thursday, Signor Malfatti had talks with President Jams Kenyatta. He was due to fly on to Burundi today (Friday).
SYNOPSIS: At Nairobi's Pan African Hotel, a meeting between Signor France Malfatti, president of the European Common Market's Executive Commission and Minister concerned in Kenya's European association. He talked first to East African Community Minister Robert Duke.
Text to join the talks with Signor Malfatti was Mr. ???, the Kenya Minister of Came??? and Industry. Signor Malfatti's two-day visit to Kenya was part of a tour of countries associated with the European Community. Kenya ??? its association as a member of the East African Community under the terms of the ??? Agreement signed in July 1968.
The two man were joined by Agriculture minister Nyagah in 1969 the European Community was second in trade after Britain, accounting for 19 per cant of Kenya's experts and 20 per cent of its imports.
