Background: In a brief ceremony on Saturday (9 January) an exhibition of Ghanaian products was officially opened in Bamako. Among those participating in the ceremony was the Ghanaian Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Quarshie, and Mali's Minister of Finance and Commerce, Lieutenant Baba Diarra.
The exhibition is a result of the programme of commercial exchanges between Ghana and Mali.
In his address. Mr. Quarshie referred to an important agreement between the two countries concluded last October to reinforce commercial exchange and development. He said that the exhibition was proof of the growing development of mutual trade and economic co-operation.
Lieutenant Diarra said the exhibition was a first step towards co-operation between Ghana and Mali. The Minister also said the exposition of Ghanaian products was in important contribution towards the intensification of co-operation among African states.
