    Background: Newspaper sales are high in Istanbul, Turkey, with the lengthy accounts of the current trial on Yassiada Island of the ousted leaders and members of the Menderes Government.

    Hundreds of extra officials attending the trial are on duty with Servicemen drafted to special duties and there are daily queues of people at the Government booths waiting to receive passes to hear the trial from the public galleries.

    Among the many visiting officials and observers, newspapermen and lawyers for the prosecution and defense is Mr. Nicolet Raymond who will report on the trials to the World Organisation of Lawyers in Geneva.
