    TRANSCRIPT: SEQ. 5:

"You reach a certain age where you come out, as we homosexuals say - you come to terms with your own sexuality. And you go to your priest, your minister, your rabbi and you say "I think there's something different about me", and you tell him about it - and - so many ministers all at once get awfully upset and they make it sound as if you can't be a Christian and a homosexual - or you can't be a real good Hebrew and be a homosexual and you're ostracised and you're cast out from the church - you can't hold any sort of an office in the church. And they drift apart from the Church because they feel that God doesn't love them and they find out later that it was the Church that left them - they didn't really want to leave the Church".

(service) "If you love the Lord this morning would you day Amen!"

    "Amen!"

"All right - after Solomon built the temple something happened - all the people got together . . . "

Background: The Metropolitan Community Church was formed a little over 2 years ago. It is non-denominational and the majority of its members are homosexuals who have traditionally been rejected by other churches.. In the two years since it's foundation the church has grown from a dozen members in a private home to its current status of nearly 500 members. Already the new church may prove to be too small. The popularity and financial success of the church can be attributed mainly to its fiery young minister and founder, Troy Perry - an ordained Trinicostal preacher from Tallahassee, Florida.
