Background: The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Michael Ramsey, is on a month-long tour of India and the Far East -- his last major official trip before he retires next year.
On Saturday (10 March) he visited St. Andrew's Orthopaedic Hospital in Singapore to meet children from Red Cross and other children's homes. He arrived in Singapore with his wife on Friday (9 March) for a three-day visited.
During the visit, Dr. Ramsey was celebrant and preacher at a parish communion service in St. Andrew's Cathedral, Singapore, and spoke at a youth rally in the cathedral grounds. He also paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew.
