Rusk and Gordon Walker speak after meeting with President Johnson.
TRANSCRIPT: RUSK: The Foreign Secretary and I have just called on President. Mr Gordon Walker has been here for 2 days during which time we have had some interesting conversations about our common interests around the world. These conversations will be continuing at the United Nations general assembly and the next NATO meeting.
GORDON WALKER: I am extremely grateful to have been received in this country in the last week of an election by Mr Dean Rusk and the President. Talks have been extremely valuable-we have covered a very large field, and of course we start with a very broad identity of interests, and we don't meet to make great commitments, we have continuing talks about foreign policy. I look forward to further talks.
There have been changes of emphasis in England in policy by virtue of changing government, but I don't thing any changes of this kind will affect the relations between England and the USA.
