Background: I have made an interview in English with Major General, Hannes Philip, (Austrian) the Commander of UN Troops on Golan Heights. In reply to the question: Can we have an idea as to the number and nationality of UN Troops moved from Golan Heights into Lebanon and the date of their departure, Major General Philip replied: Upon instructions received, certain Iranian troops moved on 22nd March at 10.30 L.T. and the main body of the Iranian company moved on 23rd March at 5.00 a.m. (LT). The number is 200 men. To another question as to who is now covering the gap left by the departure of the Iranian company, Major General Philip stated: The Austrian Battalion took their positions and will maintain the minimal operational duties and can act in emergency.
