THE 34-STOREY BUILDING WAS BUILT AT A COST OF 17 MILLION DOLLARS BY DOCTORA REGINA FEIGL, WHO RAISED ALL THE MONEY. DOCTORA FEIGL AND HER PROFESSIONAL LIFE AS A CHEMIST. WHEN SHE CAME TO BRAZIL 20 YEARS AGO, SHE TURNED TO REAL ESTATE AS A CAREER.

SCENE EIGHT: THE WEST GERMAN EMBASSY IN RIO, SHOT OF EMBASSY AND SCULPTURE. THE BUILDING IS SHAPED LIKE A SHIP, WITH THE SCULPTURE AT THE FRONT AKIN TO THE FIGUREHEAD ON THE BOWS OF OLD SHIPS. THE STATUE SYMBOLIZES OPEN-ARMED FRIENDSHIP. THE SCULPTURE WAS ERIC REUTER OF BERLIN. ARCHITECTS WERE VAN DORP OF GERMANY, AND DOEBEREINER, A BRAZILIAN OF GERMAN DESCENT.

SCENE NINE: CONTRAST SHOTS OF THE "FAVELAS", RIO'S SLUMS WHICH RING THE CITY, LOOKING DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAINS ON THE LUXURIOUS COPACABANA SECTION.

SCENE TEN: A NEW SYNAGOGUE IN RIO.

SCENE ELEVEN: MORE "FAVELA" SCENES, SHOWING CHILDREN CARRYING WATER TO SLUM SECTION, WHICH BACKS RUNNING WATER.

SCENE TWELVE: THE HOME OF ARCHITECT SERGIO BERNARDES, WHO WON A PRIZE AT THE BRUSSELS WORLD FAIR FOR HIS DESIGN OF THE BRAZILIAN PAVILION. THE HOUSE IS STILL IN A PROCESS OF CHANGE AND MRS. BERNARDES SAYS THE HOME WILL NOT BE FINISHED FOR THREE MORE YEARS. THE HOUSE, BEAUTIFULLY SITUATED ON A POINT OVERLOOKING THE ATLANTIC, IS A MAJOR ATTRACTION FOR HIGH-LEVEL BRAZILIAN VISITORS.
