    THE PLANE LAUNCHED -- A TWIN ENGINED GRUNMAN TRADER USED TO CARRY MAIL AND SPARE PARTS BETWEEN THE SHIP AND SHORE BASES.

    IT TOOK OFF AT ALMOST ONE HUNDRED KNOTS.ON BOARD WERE II MEN SOUND FOR A TOUR OF INLAND NEW SOUTH WALES.TELEVISION CAMERAS ON THE DECK PHOTOGRAPHED THE TAKE OFF AND RECORDED IT ON VIDEO TAPE.HERE IS A REPLAY OF THE VIDEO TAPE ON THE CARRIER'S CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION SYSTEM.IT COST A QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS TO INSTALL THE SYSTEM.

    ALL TAKE OFF AND LANDINGS ON THE CORAL SEA ARE RECORDED ON VIDEO TAPE.THE TAPES ARE STUDIED TO TRACE THE CAUSE OF ACCIDENTS AND TO HELP IN PILOT TRAINING LECTURES.

    TELEVISION RECEIVERS ARE SITUATED ON THE BRIDGE, BESIDE THE LANDING SAFETY OFFICER, AND IN THE PILOT READY ROMS.THE "CORAL SEA"WAS THE FIRST AMERICAN CARRIER EQUIPPED WITH THE TELEVISION SYSTEM, BUT ITS NOW BEING FITTED TO ALL CARRIERS IN THE AMERICAN FLEET.
