    REEL ONE.



    S.A. MACKENZIE, of SYDNEY ROWING CLUB, AUSTRALIA, carries his sculls out from LEANDER CLUB, for his heat in the DIAMOND CHALLENGE SCULLS.



    Sitting on the clubhouse raft Mackenzie bathes his feet in the river as he poses for two Press Photographers.



    Mackenzie carries out his craft and goes afloat.



    MACKENZIE beating R.A. WILLIS, of the Sons of the Thames Rowing Club, by 1/2 length.



    Shot down the course from the rowers viewpoint.



    The Dutch four, AMSTERDAMSCHE STUDENTEN ROEIVEREENIGING "NEREUS" bring out their boat for their heat in the Stewards Challenge Cup.



    The Dutch bring out their blades - into boat - their coach gives them final instructions and they pull away.



    Spectators.



    The finish with the Dutch being beaten by St. Edmund Hall, Oxford & Lincoln College Oxford. The Dutch are on left nearest camera.

    (In this race the crews had a clash of blades and both crews stopped. The Umpire decided that they should restart and continue racing.)
