Background: SYNOPSIS: One of the most dazzling performances came from Jane Puracchio and Kerry Cavazzi in the pairs dancing event. With their routine the American couple won this section for the second year running. Their last year's win came at the championships which were held in Brisbane, Australia.
All three medals in the pairs dancing went to Americans. Fleurette Arsenault and Don Little came second with Lauri Bonell and Gary Nato in third place. Another American, Natalie Dunn, won the women's artistic title but the men's individual event was dominated by the West Germans. Thomas Nieder came first with team mate, Martin Butzke second and Italian skater, Umberto Paganelli in third place.
But at the end of the day all the years of hard work and practice were worth while as the young American couple were presented with their medals. Now it's more practice for them in the hope of making next year's championships yet another triumph.
