Background: Guinea's President Sekou Toure arrived at Djakarta's Kamajoran Airport Sept 19, on a four-day goodwill visit to Indonesia at the invitation of President Soekarno, after a tour of Communist China and Communist North Vietnam.
Indonesian Army and Airforce Units provided a guard of honour for the visiting African dignitary who was to have visited Indonesia last month but postponed his trip due to unsettled conditions in Africa. Sekou Toure is returning a visit by President Sukarno to Guinea earlier this year.
In his speech at the airport, Sekou Toure emphasized the friendship between the two countries and expressed his wish to consolidate this friendship.
Toure was given a warm welcome by a banner - carrying crowd who shouted slogans proclaiming Indonesia-Guinea friendship. Crowds waving Indonesian and Guinea flags cheered the two leaders as they drove in an open car from the airport to the Presidential Palace, two miles away.
