Around the arrival of this machine it was rather a to do because it makes a lot of noise. It turned out it was not so bad, the same noise that is made by all jetplanes. The noise of the Viscount is worse. In Europe are several aerodromes that have, because of the noise, this plane forbidden to land.
The TU 104 A has been developed from the bomber TU 16 and is since a short time has been rebuilt for passengers flights and is exploited by the Russian company Aeroflot.
It is operated by two AM-3 gasturbines that give the plane an averaged speed of 830 km an hour with a flying-distance of 3000 km. The length is 38.40 m and the span is 36.60 m and it can carry 70 passengers.
In the presence of a lot of public it taxied on the runaway where several members of the Russian Embassy and the Management of KLM welcomed the passengers, who were mostly technical people as this flight was a technical trial-flight.
