The friendly match was played at Reutlingen football ground, West Germany and drew a crowd of 3,000 fans. All the scoring action took place in the first half. Polish player Lato headed home the first ball, which was followed by the only Stuttgart goal scored by Allgower from a free kick. The final goal came from veteran player Boniek who defeated the goalkeeper to win the match. The game was a useful warm-up for the Polish team in preparation for the World Cup competition in Spain later this month. Poland's group one opponents will be Italy, Peru and Cameroon.
