Background: Ghana's industrial achievements went on show at a week-long fair in Accra on Friday (January 10). The fair also marked the third anniversary of the National Redemption Council's administration.
About 200 Ghanaian manufacturing companies and more than 40 government departments and agencies are participating in the exhibition, in which the recurring theme is the need for self-reliance to improve the country's economic situation.
Ghana's Commissioner for Industries Lt.-Colonel P.K. Nkegbe declared the fair open on Friday, and later toured the stands - where multi-million pound corporations shared floorspace alongside small independent industries.
