Background: Today the casket with the remains of airforce captain Willard G. Palm. Pilot of the RB 47 weather aircraft which had been shot down by USSR jets over international waters was flown back today in brought in by USAF military aircraft. The weather plane was shot down on July 1st 1960. Two man of the crew safed their life and are in hands of the Russians. They will appear on trial for espionage. The commander of the aircraft and four others were killed. Capt. Palm was handed over to the US embassy to Moscau in the early morning of today and flown by special aircraft to Amsterdam. Then a USAF plane from Germany a C 47 was send to Amsterdam. Frankfurt airpolice honour guard was built up while the remains were brought to a waiting truck. The body will be examined in the Frankfurt army hospital and later flown to USA.
