SEQ. 1: ORTIZ: "We thought that given the minimal kinds of alterations that we would be doing to the facade how can we unify that facade into a whole? We thought of -- I don't know -- several ideas and happened to land on this, what you can see here, after making many sketches, of course I was counting the dollars while he was making the sketches, but none-the-less at the end of all that came out the facade as you see it now."

SEQ. 6: DOMAN: "We needed something that had to express the outside of the building as well. And people would walk into the office and obviously see it was an architectural office, but they wouldn't really make that relationship to the outside. So we thought that a blueprint at full scale would be the best thing to advertise what we do and also in a sense to give a little bit of a graphic lesson to people. So now people can relate blueprints to something real....something three dimensional."

This was the problem facing New York architects James Doman and Amando Ortiz.
