    FILM 5748/66 SHOWS: A tele-recording of the clashes, which began last night, including a shot of the 51-year-old plasterer who lost his life. The workers claimed he was knocked down by a police car and beaten up by police truncheons.

    Background: Bullets whistled through Amsterdam today (Tuesday) as Dutch police opened fire over to leads of rioting building workers. In a series of disturbances - the worst in the city since the end of the World War Two - one man died and 30 were injured. The riots grew out of a protest by the workers against a deduction in their summer pay bonus.
