Background: The West German Chancellor, Herr Brandt, Poland's Prime Minster, Mr, Cyrankiewicz, and the Polish Communist Party chief, Mr. Gomulka, arriving for a new round of talks on Monday, a few hours after signing of the new treaty between the two countries.
Herr Brandt said there were wide fields for fruitful co-operation between West Germany and Poland. The Polish leaders hope the talks will lead to closer economic, technological and cultural links and a long-term credit from Germany. And for 90,000 people of German origin in Poland the new spirit of good will brings hopes of being allowed to emigrate to the West.
