Background: SYNOPSIS: Australian reptiles are setting out by air this week to Zoos in New York, Toronto and Munich. The reptiles, said to be amongst the rarest living creatures in Australia were captured by aborigines in the Northern Territory desert country and sent by air to Sydney where they were taken over by Mr. S. KELNER who organised the collection. Altogether fifty reptiles of a dozen different varieties make up the collection. They range in length from nearly three feet to a few inches. Not the least of the difficulties in sending shipments like these overseas is keeping up their food supply - some eat only a certain type of ant, which also has to be captured in the central deserts. Probably the most intriguing reptile in the shipment is the Never Devil - believed to be a descendant of a giant reptile which once roamed Western Australia; and looked like this only more so.
