    Background: SWITZERLAND, MARTIGNY-BOURG

Six people are dead and at least twenty four injured after two trains smashed into each other near Martigny-Bourg near the France-Swiss border. Investigators said a signalling error was most likely to blame for the crash which left eleven people hospitalised - six with serious injures. Four Swiss, one French woman and a Spanish woman died in the crash - Switzerland's worst since a Swiss train struck a bus in September 1982, killing 39 German tourists.
