  • Description

SUMMARY: IN ANSWER TO QUESTIONS, MR. DUNCAN SAYS RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE MISSION'S WORK INCLUDE THE FORMATION OF A CANADA*U-K TRADE COUNCIL, AN ENLARGEMENT OF THE OLD DOLLAR-STERLING TRADE COUNCIL. IT WILL BE SPLIT INTO COMMITTEES IN SUCH PLACES AS MONTREAL, TORONTO, VANCOUVER AND PERHAPS PLACES IN THE PRAIRIE PROVINCES MEETING PERIODICALLY TO PROMOTE TRADE WITH BRITAIN. HE SAYS THE WORK OF THIS GROUP WILL NOT CONFLICT WITH GOVERNMENT TRADE BODIES: RATHER, IT WILL BE A CO-OPERATIVE EFFORT. HE SAYS IT IS TOO EARLY FOR ANY NOTICEABLE DIVERSION OF CANADIAN TRADE TO THE UNITED KINGDOM FROM PRESIDENT MARKETS IN THE UNITED STATES, BUT ADDS THAT THERE IS NO DOUBT THIS WILL OCCUR.)
