Background: Believing he has solved the problem of models - finding it difficult to hold poses for long periods of time - Sydney artist Kit Goninon was filmed by Visnews hypnotising Miss Robin Ormsby.
The model is first shown the exact position she is required to hold, then she is hypnotised to hold that position indefinitely. If needed she could hold a pose for hours under hypnosis, a virtually impossible feat under normal circumstances.
After awakening the model is as alert and very much herself in every way, except that she seems to have lost any desire to move once she's taken up her pose.
Artist Goninon will enter Robin's portrait in this year's Archibald Prize competition.
