The Viet Cong bodies collected for burial in Binh Duong are said to number about 100. The Government troops, led by Major Pham Van Dieu also collected 55 rifles, some 75 mm recoilless rifles and ammunition said to have been made in the People's Republic of China.
The Viet Cong are reported to have been killed during an attack on a Government command post about 40 miles north west of Saigon. Some of the Viet Cong are said to have infiltrated the perimeter. They were beaten of and fled through a mine field, where they suffered further casualties.
(The Viet Cong "collecting point" for bodies discovered by the Government forces is in an area where there has been no major fighting recently. Villagers have recently reported the Viet cong carrying off their dead on carts after clashes in the rubber plantations north of Saigon.)
