Background: A requiem mans for Patrice Lumumba, recently-murdered former Premier of the Congo Republic, was held in st. Joseph's Roman Catholic Cathedral in Cairo, United Arab Republic, Feb 20. It was attended by diplomatic from many countries, including Ceylon, Indonesia, Ghana and the Chinese People's Republic.
Another mourner - Pierre Mulele, chief of the Congo Mission to Cairo. The flag of the Congolese republic was much in evidence: it was flying outside the Cathedral and another one was by the altar during the service.
