SYNOPSIS: The delegation of Angola is headed by the country's first Deputy Premier, Mr. Jose Eduardo Dos Santors, former foreign minister, appointed to his new position only on Monday (29 November). Last June the United States vetoed Angola's application in the Security Council and questioned whether Angola was truly independent. Responding to African appeals the American delegation abstained when the Council reconsidered the candidacy last week. The President of the Assembly congratulated Angolans upon their admition.
