Background: This is claimed to be the first film ever released of North Vietnamese regular army artillery forces at training. The company are training with the 122mm cannons which they are alleged to have used against United States forces near the demilitarised zone.
Although North Vietnam has officially rejected the latest Nixon peace proposals, military sources said communist activity was a low ebb.
In accordance with the principle of the Vietnamese armed forces the troops of this company are usually occupied by working in the fields and helping the local peasants. Now, the 300 soldiers, mostly in their early twenties, and back at training.
Their company was set up in 1946 and took part in the battle of Dien Bien Phue against the French. They were also in the Khesan valley attack in South Vietnam.
