MUZOREWA: "One of the issues that the African nations and the people of Zimbabwe has to battle against is American imperialism, which Dr. Kissinger is coming down to Africa to fortify. We wish to reiterate that there is absolutely no business to discuss with Dr. Kissinger, because the ANC is at war with American forces in Africa. (indistinct) in southern Africa, we all know that one, the US Government backs white minority regimes in political and diplomatic practice; two, the American government continues to give first call and encourage its businessmen to invest in Zimbabwe in Southern Africa as a whole, in spite of the insistent demands that they should stop; three, the White House is sending Kissinger to prepare ground for the setting up of public regimes, in various parts of Southern Africa where they think majority rule is imminent; four, Kissinger has not yet recognised the People's Republic of Angola, which is evidence that he's opposed to majority rule. Furthermore, Kissinger is the author of the infamous (indistinct) plan, which is a report about the destructive detente policy of South Africa. It is against our war of liberation, he can therefore only come to subvert and sabotage."
