    Background: Guinea's President Ahmed Sekou Toure arrived in Libreville, Gabon on March 11 at the invitation of Gabon's President Albert Bongo to take part in joint celebrations marking the 16th anniversary of the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party is the sole political party in Gabon. It was established in 1968, the year after Albert Bongo became President. Gabonese troops including regiments of women marched before the Presidents in the main square, the Place de L'Independence. President Bongo also presented his wife with the country's highest order of distinction.
