Background: The new Burmese Ambassador to India, Mrs. Aung Son - wife of the late Prime Minister of Burma, General Aung Son - presented her credentials July 11 to President Rajindra Prasad at a colourful ceremony in New Delhi's Presidential Palace - the "Rashtrapati Bhavan".
On arrival at the Palace, Mrs Aung Son was escorted to the main gate by the President's mounted guardsmen. There she was traditionally receive by the Palace staff and took the salute before inspecting the guard-of-honour.
Bugles heralded her arrival as she ascended the stairs to present her credentials. At the ceremony she conveyed the good wishes of her country to President Prasad.
