Background: Arab ambassadors met in Cairo yesterday (January 10) for a briefing on the latest clashes between Jordanian troops and Arab guerrillas in Jordan. They were informed of the situation by Mr. Bahi Ladgham, head of the conciliation committee between Jordan and the guerrillas, who later held a press conference.
Mr. Ladgham, a former Prime Minister of Tunisia, told journalists the meeting was attended by envoys of Arab countries that signed an understanding between Palestinian guerrillas and the Jordanian Government in Cairo last September (1970).
According to reports the fighting, which broke out on Friday (January 8) was still continuing on Sunday (January 10).
