Background: About 3,000 people this morning were in Cathedral Square Christchurch, New Zealand to see Her Majesty the Queen leave the United Service Hotel for a church service.She was accompanied by the Prime Minister, Mr.Keith Holyoake, The Duke, and Mrs.Holyoake.They were met at the door of the cathedral by church dignitaries including the Dean of Christchurch Pyatt (W.A.) and the bishop - J.K.Warren.Archbishop Dr.Lessor.

Mr.Holyoake presented the Queen to the Bishop of Christchurch J.K.Warren, who presented her to the Archbishop of New Zealand.He in turn presented her to the Dean of Christchurch.Shots taken from the Tower of the Cathedral may be unsteady due to the pealing of the bells.
