    Background: Lord Casey, former Australian Minister for External Affairs, took his seat on the Woolsack, in London's House of Lords, May 18. After taking the traditional oath, Lord Casey signed the roll. His sponsors were Lord Hankey and Lord Carrington.

    Australian Prime Minister, Mr. Menzies, said early this year that Lord Casey wished to leave the Australian Cabinet "to record the important events of the last few years while he has still great vigour." Lord Casey is 69.
