Background: A 15-member Egyptian military delation began a three-day visit to Pakistan on Wednesday (2 July). It was headed by Major General Moneer Sami.
The Egyptians were met at the Pakistan Army Headquarters by the Army Chief of Staff, General Tikka Khan. General Tikka visited Egypt only a few months ago.
The Egyptian visit follows various other Arab delegations to Pakistan.
Observers consider the visit important as it took place shortly after the tour by Egyptian leader, President Anwar Sadat, of CENTO (Central Treaty Organisation) countries, of which Pakistan is a member.
A large number of Arab army, navy and air force cadets are being trained in Pakistan.
