Background: The Greek Regent, General George Zoetakis, attended a service in Athens Cathedral on Sunday (August 29) to commemorate War Virtues Day -- which marks the occasion of the defeat of communist guerrillas during World War Two. The service was conducted by the Archbishop of Athens, Monseigneur Ieronymos. Earlier in the week, in a radio broadcast to the nation to mark the occasion, Greek Premier Papadopoulos said Greece gave no-one the right to be its guardian and that his revolutionary regime would carry out its aims to the end. Two days before that broadcast Mr. Papadopoulos had emerged in a strong position after a major re-shuffle of his army-backed Government.
