Background: The Beatles arrived back in London at dawn today (Friday) to the customary screaming welcome. It seemed the fifty to a hundred fans, mostly young girls, who met them at London airport were anxious to make up for the jostling their idols had met in Manila.
The Beatles visited West Germany, the Philippines, Japan and India on their two-week tour. At Manila Airport, a crowd booed, jeered and jostled the English pop group who were said to have slighted the Philippines Presidential family by not turning up for a lunch engagement. The Beatles denied that they had received an invitation to meet President Ferdinand Marcos' family.
