THE WORKERS WERE USED TO THE CAPITAL FROM DETERMINING DETROIT AND OTHER CITIES WHERE AUTO COMPANY LAY-OFFS HAVE CAUSED HEAVY UNEMPLOYMENT. THE PROTEST WAS ORGANIZED BY THE UNITED ANTI WORKERS UNION AND ITS PRESIDENT., LEONARD WOODCOCK , WARNED THE ADMINISTRATION THAT UNLESS THEY TOOK IMMEDIATE ACTION ON HIS UNIONS DEMANDS, AND EVEN LARGER PROTEST RALLY WOULD BE STAGED IN THE CITY.
