Background: World renowned architect Le Corbusier celebrated his 70th birthday recently and in Munich a special exhibition was organised in his honour.

Better known for his designs for large buildings --flats, hospitals, etc - Le Corbusier is also held in some esteem for his contemporary sculptural designs.

Such a work among his exhibits was a 'plastic' totem pole. Models of his structural works included a Pilgrimage Chapel at Bonchamps, dwelling houses in the South of France and the Capital of Chandigarb, India.
