Background: 46 Year-old Olle Blomqvist, a Swedish engineer, spent a year in hospital a few years ago, paralysed by a virus infection. During this time his mind worked on the problem of how to move paralysed victims from bed to stretcher and how to bathe them properly. The outcome is this combined stretcher and folding bath which experts from hospitals all over the world have pronounced as excellent.
Constructed simply from steel tubes and rubber mat, the stretcher-bath is easily managed as is demonstrated by the inventor and two nurses.
