Background: Fiat Chairman Giovanni Agnelli in the ??? annual meeting has reported that Fiat 1972 production target will not be met if the political and labour unrest continues. Due to continual strike spasms the first 4 months of production are 40,000 units behind schedule - the overall target for 1972 is 1,750,000 units. Fiat has successfully collaborated with the French Citroen whose sales figures are steadily improving. Fiat is one of the major Italian companies who have tried to give employment in the South by opening up a factory in the Campania region of which Naples is capital. In their expansion abroad they have also founded a Fiat plant in Russia - Togliattigrad - which is reportedly doing well.
