    Background: Jim Ryun, world record-holder in the mile run, is training at Flagstaff, Arizona, for the Olympic Games to be held in Mexico City.

    The champion miler form Kansas University contracted mono-nucleosis in late May and early June and therefore has been taking it comparatively easy while training at Northern Arizona University. Ryun said that his doctor in hopeful that he will be able to step up his running this (June 24) week.

    Ryun is training in Arizona because its elevation in 7,200 feet, the same as Mexico City. He is hopeful that this will help him when running in the Olympics at the high altitude.
