    Background: Some 8 million Egyptians including 800,000 women went to the polls today throughout Egypt to re-affirm their support to Nasser's successor Interim President Anwar Sadat. Some 15,000 polling booths have been opened in all the governorates from 0800 till 1700 Thursday. Immediately the polling is over the electoral committee will sort the votes and keep the Ministry of Interior informed. At noon on Friday the results will be announced.
