Background: Over 1,500 people in Peking representing all sections of the population held a rally on December 16th, in commemoration of the fourth anniversary of the founding of the South Vietnam National Front For Liberation and the Success of the Hanoi Conference.
The rally is attended by Vice Premier Ho Lung and others. Kuo Mo-jo, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Chairman of the China Peace Committee made the opening speech. He declares that the struggle of the people of South Vietnam has set a brilliant example for oppressed peoples and oppressed nations throughout the world. It is tremendous contributions to Asian and world peace.
The rally was then addressed by Liu Ning-yi, Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Committee for Afro-Asian Solidarity and head of the Chinese delegation to the Hanoi International Conference. He emphatically points out that the question of South Vietnam can only be solved by the people of South Vietnam according to their own will. US imperialism and its accomplices are attempting to intervene in the Indo-China affairs through the UN. This scheme can never be allowed. Liu Ning-yi castigates the plot of US imperialism to extend its aggressive war in South Vietnam to the Vietnam Democratic Republic. He reiterates that the Chines people would never stand by idly when their neighbouring country suffered aggression.
A speech was also made by Nguyen Minh Phuong, acting head of the delegation of the South Vietnam National Front for Liberation to China. He stresses that US imperialists and their running dogs are collapsing in South Vietnam. This shows that the 'special warfare' carried out by US imperialism in South Vietnam and its policy of neo-colonialism will inevitably be met with fiasco.
Vietnamese ambassador to China, Tran Tu Binh says that closely unite around the party and government led by President Ho Chi Minh, the South Vietnamese people are constantly raising their vigilance and are ready to deal smashing against the enemy at any time.
The rally then adopted a message of support to the people of South Vietnam and the people of all Vietnam.
