Background: In the latest round of the Algerian football club championship, the match between USK the Kouba team playing at home, and CMC Constantine ended in a goaless draw.
SYNOPSIS: The Constantine team, wearing orange jerseys kicked off and made an early attack on the Kouba defence.
Constantine had an early chance to move into the lead when Khellaf, wearing No. 11, lobbed the ball over the Kouba goalkeeper Bouaichaoui, but the ball hit the crossbar and bounced back into play. Constantine forwards gained possession again, but this time Bouaichaoui was ready.
In the second half, Kouba tried for an early initiative, but could not penetrate the Constantine defence. One of the best moments of play came from a move by Constantine's No. 9. Attik but the ball passed to the Kouba front line who moved into their first real attack of the match. Again it was individual play, rather than coordinated team work which saved Constantine.
In the middle of the second half, Constantine rallied and moved into the attack again, driving forward into the Kouba penalty area, Salem Fendi had an opportunity, but succeeded only in presenting the goalkeeper Bouaichaoui with an easy save.
Attik had another opportunity only minutes later, but again Bouaichaoui found no difficulty in preventing Constantine from taking the lead. This brought a late response from Kouba, and play moved down field.
The final threat came from a corner awarded to Kouba, but the goal was disallowed after Kouba forwards charged the Constantine goal.
