OTTAWA, CANADA: SV Queen Mother speaks:-(Nat.sd.)SV, CU, Ditto:-(Nat.sd.)SV Queen sits mid applause.
SV Queen Mother speaks:- "I bring to you the affectionate greetings of my beloved daughter, the Queen."
SV..."She asked me to tell you also of her grateful memories of the days which she and the Duke of Edinburgh spent in your midst."
Cu..."The journey which the King and I made across this broad land will remain in memory for ever. Often we spoke of the children of Canada, who thronged the cities and crowded the platform of the little wayside stations to cheer us on our journey with the colour of their happy presence & the loveliness of their singing. I have learnt, too, with great interest, that since the month of June, 1939, 5 million more children have been borne into the bright fortune of Canada. I hope that the Queen will have many opportunities to witness their happiness also."
